NJASK Testing Week

We have gotten through our first 2 days of NJASK testing on Language Arts.  On Wednesday and Thursday, we will have our NJASK Math testing.  Friday is our NJASK Science test.

I have been reading the novel "Hoot" to the students the past two weeks.  The story is about a boy named Roy Eberhardt, the new kid at Trace Middle School. The story is an ecological mystery about a pancake house that is scheduled to be built over the burrows of endangered miniature owls.  We will watch the movie HOOT on Friday.

Information About September 11th

Our current Social Studies Chapter on "Times of Change" touches briefly upon the events of September 11th.  With the current events in the news bringing up this tragic day, we felt it was appropriate to share some facts with the students. This week, we will be watching the Brain Pop movie about September 11th.  Feel free to preview or review it with your child.

We will also discuss this famous quote:
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
